I obtained my Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, under the supervision of Dr. Joao Pedra where I elucidated the role of the GTPase Rab27 in tick extracellular vesicle biogenesis, tick feeding, and tick-borne disease. In graduate school, I most enjoyed contributing to multiple manuscripts and grants. Subsequently, I sought to engage in high-impact, exciting science through writing and joined the Sinclair Laboratory as a grant writer and project manager in November of 2023.
